PC How To - About Us

When I say About Us what I really mean is About Me, but About Us sounds so much more professional.

My name is Simon Hart and I am a PC support tech in the Physics Department at the University of York.

I also spend a lot of my spare time helping out family and friends with their computing problems and for the past ten years I have been supporting customers in the village where I live, Stamford Bridge.

I have the memory of a goldfish, so for quite a few years I have been putting snippets of information on the web for my own use, info that I occasionally need but never remember. Having this info on the web was handy because I could get at it quickly from any PC.

Inevitably the search engine spiders also found my rather unprofessional pages and I started to get visitors. These pages are my attempt to present this info in a more professional manner.

I also get asked for all sorts of computing advice, from what PC to buy, what broadband provider to choose etc etc. I can spend a fair amount of time researching an answer to these questions so when I do, I will put that info on here aswell. Hopefully more people will find my advice helpful.
